Metropolitan Realty Associates announced it has hired Todd Bassenas a managing principal. Bassen, formerly a top executive at Invesco Real Estate and Vornado Realty Trust, was previously co-head of real estate at WeWork. Bassen will help drive the company’s growth in New York City, focusing on projects between $50 million and $250 million, he told TRD last month.
Melissa Gliatta has been promoted to chief operating officer, North America, at Thor Equities. She will work with company CEO Joseph Sitt to expand business activities across North America and will oversee areas including asset management, leasing, development and construction. Gliatta was previously executive vice president.
Dan Fasulo has been appointed senior vice president of real estate product at DMG Information. He was previously a consultant to the company. Fasulo, who was at Real Capital Analytics earlier, will help with real estate strategy and product development.
Cushman & Wakefield has hired Mark Weiss as executive vice chairman. Weiss joins the New York brokerage from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, where he served as vice chairman.
Senior directors James Famularo and Matthew Sparks have been promoted to principals at Eastern Consolidated.
Robert Deckey has joined Invesco Real Estate as managing director and senior investment officer, leading the company’s investment efforts in the New York metro area. He was previously chief investment officer for George Comfort & Sons.
The NYU Furman Center has appointed Jessica Yager as its executive director; she will work on advancing research on housing, neighborhoods and urban policy. She was previously deputy director.
HAP Investments announced it has hired Avi Blum as controller. Blum was previously at Citrin Cooperman & Company.
TerraCRG has promoted Peter Matheos to vice president of investment sales. Matheos will lead a new investment sales team, focusing on multifamily, mixed-use and retail assets in South Brooklyn.
Compass has hired Ralph Modica, along with his five-member team. Modica previously worked at both Douglas Elliman and CORE.
