PROJECT MANAGER – NEW YORK, NY

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Responsible for the overall management of multiple construction projects at a time with the aid of Field Superintendents. Plan, coordinate and strategize project development through construction to obtaining the certificate of occupancy. Oversee and coordinate the design development with the design team from schematic design of construction projects and monitor progress against schedules, regulations and project specifications. Assist in outlining project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance. Resolve technical problems with design and detail drawings utilizing engineering principles. Calculate cost and determine feasibility of project constructability. Preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, and designs. Inspect sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to specifications and safety standards. Coordinate construction activities, scheduling and act as a liaison to executive management concerning bids, subcontracting, progress and delays for projects. Responsible for cost estimation & analysis, schedules, materials & quantity take off, and review and approval of purchase orders. Perform field inspections, assist contractors, enforce compliance to project manuals & code regulations. During construction of projects, the applicant must work with contractors to verify conformance of work with design documents and reflect any changes.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Applicant must have a Masters Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering plus three years of experience in the construction/project management field in a role with an engineering company, general contractor, or a development company. Applicant must also have three years of experience with the following: proposals and contract negotiation, MS Project, AutoCad, and MS Office. 40 hours per week, M-F, 8:30 am-5:30pm, Applicant must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
